Shelagh takes a Bow

Over the weekend that would have seen Shelagh Delaney celebrate her birthday, Salford Arts theatre celebrated her birthday with the fifth annual #BeInspired Shelagh Delaney weekend.

Beginning on Saturday the 23rd November with six new plays by local writers and a showing of the film “Charlie Bubbles” which Delaney wrote the screenplay for and starred fellow Salfordian Albert Finney, the weekend was rounded off with a series of readings in the theatres fourth wall bar.

The theatre is already in the early stages of planning for the 2020 event, but until then, theatregoers can enjoy the annual pantomime, Dick Whittington, which runs until December 31st, tickets for this, and all other productions can be purchased via this link
